Restaurant in Montreal: Laloux

One rainy morning, our friend visiting Montréal set off to find a trendy restaurant on the trendy rue Saint Denis. Well, it was August, and so when he go there, he discovered that of course the place was closed for most of the month.

Somewhat crestfallen, he started to slog back to his hotel down the first side street he came to. And there, just a block away, was a beautiful old stone building and the subtle sign of Laloux. He studied the menu, and that night his companion and he returned for an entrancing meal. There is a charming patio and a homey bistroesque room.

Laloux serves classic French cuisine with a touch of the exotic. Fresh fish daily. French-trained award-winning chef André Besson, student of Bocuse. Sophisticated wine list and excellent wine by the glass.
