It is very charming—it feels like a nice old rent-controlled apartment building. Yet it is a real hotel: with 509 rooms; a bar, a La Parc Restaurant, banquet and meeting rooms, and a roof garden.
Not to mention its gracious and very New York setting: on the corner of Lexington Avenue and 21st Street, across from Gramercy Park. And yes, the doorman has a key to this only private park in Manhattan, and will be happy to let you in—and out, when you specify. The nicest imprisonment imaginable in this very intense city.
